Pamela Casey Nagler, “Anthropomorphism, Suburban Series Montclair, Ca 2014”, photograph.
As you drive through the endless suburbs of Los Angeles, We have all seen those houses that take on human traits. Some are friendly and some are truly scary.
Steven Nagler, “Vianny Marquez, Montclair Class of 2016, Nagler Cups”, marker on paper.
Steve and Pamela Casey Nagler were the founders of The Shrimps, an amazing performance group(the store in Claremont was cool too.)This piece depicts a drawing of one of Steve's ceramics pieces by one of his students, a nice tribute!
Jesus Chaidez, “Clouds” watercolor on paper, 2020.
Jesus was featured in the latest Singletreearts exhibition in Los Angeles in 2019. He paints beautiful landscapes, but there is a darker undercurrent to them. Important is the layering, the sky, the ground and also the underground. The clouds in the sky are made up of flowers. Beneath these layers are interconnected references to immigration and the drug trade, with the indigenous Native American burial mound as a central feature.
