Gabriel Rojas, “Welcome to Glendale” mixed-media collage, 2020
This piece evokes the nostalgic travel postcards sent from exotic locations visited all over the world. The artist makes it a personal safari, and with a tinge of irony sends a postcard from that far away place, Glendale!
Diana Del Monte “EGO ERADICATOR:Self Portrait with Spirit Animal Wisdom” photograph, acetate and ink, 5” X 7” no date
“When we don’t identify with the Tsunamis of the mind, we remain shapeless, and slip into freedom.” The image is multilayered, it talks about clearing the mind on the one hand , but also sacrifice on the other. The piece also speaks to our relationship with other creatures on earth, and how this is a mystery that some of us have advanced insight into, and we all need to pay attention to as we have to redefine the natural world around us
Michele Allaway Baldonado, “Meet 2020” collage, 2020
In this work the artist uses photo collage to express hope that things might get back on track to some kind of normal by having dodger baseball back!
Ceca Rahl,
“end or and” mixed-media, 10 panels, 2020.
This piece is a very intricate series of ten postcards stacked as a book. It is very personal and focuses on issues of family, history, and questioning. it points to the introspection that we are all going through as we become more intimate with the people we are sheltering with.
