About Us
Eszter Delgado
Eszter Delgado was born in Los Angeles. She received her BA in Art with an emphasis on ceramics and painting with a minor in Multi-Cultural Studies from Humboldt State University, She went on to Claremont Graduate University where she received her MFA in video and installation art. She is a mixed media, installation, and video artist as well as environmental and social activist. Delgado’s work has been shown in museums and galleries throughout the United States. She is also a curator and educator. Delgado was involved with the United Farm Workers Union and is currently volunteering with the Border Angels and has volunteered with Heal the Bay, Food Forward and other non-profits that work with the community. She is the founder of Single Tree Arts, an organization dedicated to the development of exhibitions by artists of color, gender identity and sexual orientation. Recently she was a grant panelist for the California Arts Council, and curated exhibitions for the Huntington Beach and Manhattan Beach Art Centers. . She is currently a teaching artist and is working on art related initiatives throughout Los Angeles County.
Martin Betz
Betz immigrated to the United States from Germany. After graduating from Cal State Fullerton, he went on to Claremont Graduate University and received his degree in experimental film and sculpture. In graduate school Betz became interested in exhibition design and installation, which started a long career in museum work, culminating in the position of Senior Curator at the Long Beach Museum of Art. For five years he was the Director of the prestigious Art School, Hui No eau Visual Art Center in Hawaii, but was asked to come back to the mainland and start a Cultural Arts Division for the City of Temecula. After creating a 35-employee strong arts division, completing the construction of a performing Arts Center, and the designation of Old Town Temecula as an arts district, he went on to work as the Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Manhattan Beach. Currently, Betz is part of the arts collaborative Single Tree Arts.
